Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is the first Bulgarian higher education institution and was established in 1888. Currently it is structured in 16 faculties and 21 centers and educates more than 25 000 students in 108 bachelor, 350 master and 100 doctoral programs with more than 2000 lecturers. The University has the best Bulgarian scholars in all fields of scientific research and focuses on projects funded by national and European programs, national agencies, NGOs, and business enterprises. The mission of Sofia University is to develop the scientific, educational and cultural potential of Bulgaria, whereby the new emphasis is on creating models for social development and contributing to the social change by educational and research activities. The University maintains inter-university agreements with more than 80 universities from Europe and other countries and hundreds of joint participations in international projects. Sofia University, Faculty of Education has been involved in Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership project before, the “Polycentric inspection of network of schools” project and is currently participating in the “Supervising schools in the 21st century: digital tools and improvement plans” Erasmus+ funded project. Sofia University could bring expertise in the area of school inspection, school improvement and school self- and peer-evaluation and rich experience in case study research.

Dr. Rossitsa Simeonova is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education, Sofia University. She has20 years of experience as lecturer in academia (bachelor, master and doctoral level) and as a trainer and consultant in education practice. Her research interests and publications are related to educational management and evaluation – school self-evaluation, inspection, peer review and quality management in particular. She has been a consultant of Bulgarian Ministry of Education and expert groups member in relation to school inspection and quality management. She was Principal Investigator for Erasmus + funded projects. She is a member of the Southeast Europe Academic Women’s Leadership Initiative and member of the managing boards of Interuniversity institute for management of education – Interaula and Network for Innovations in Education – Sofia. Assoc. Prof. Yonka Parvanova has been working for the Faculty of Education since 2007. Her main interests are in the field of school management, and especially in school financial management, school self-evaluation and school administration. She has been investigator for Erasmus+ funded projects. Dr. Parvanova has an extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative research in education.
